DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its monthly volleyball award winners and Salisbury senior defensive specialist Hailey Dougherty was named the Division III South Region Defensive Player of the Month for October.
Dougherty, who earned the award for September as well, continued her impressive senior campaign during the month of October with 193 total digs across 34 sets played for a solid 5.68 digs per set. The libero also contributed 27 assists, six aces and a kill.
In addition to her two monthly awards, Dougherty has been named Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Defensive Player of the Week three times in 2019 and currently leads the conference in total digs (556) and digs per set (5.35). She sits fourth all-time in program history with 1,824 career digs.
The volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday evening when it hosts St. Mary's in the opening round of the CAC Tournament beginning at 7 p.m.
