INDIANAPOLIS – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released its initial regional rankings for the 2019 volleyball season on Wednesday with Salisbury currently ranked 11th in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Sea Gulls have won back-to-back contests versus Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opponents to jump to 15-8 overall on the season and 4-4 in conference play.
Leading the region in the initial poll is Johns Hopkins University with a perfect 23-0 record in 2019. Sitting right behind at No. 2 is Susquehanna University with a 23-4 record overall. Rounding out the top five are Carnegie Mellon University (16-5), Juniata College (16-6), and CAC rival Christopher Newport University (19-7)
Salisbury returns to action when it hosts Southern Virginia University for its final home CAC matchup of the regular season on Saturday, October 26 beginning at 2 p.m.
