FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its 2017 CAC volleyball season awards on Tuesday morning. Junior outside hitter Nicole Venturelli earned recognition from league coaches as she was named First Team All-CAC for the first time in her career.
Venturelli finished the season with career-highs in seven different categories including kills, kills per set, total attacks, digs, and total blocks. She recorded a team and conference best 457 kills and another conference and team best 4.15 kills per set. Her 1,327 total attacks was also a best in both the conference and on the team.
For the season Venturelli totaled 15 matches in which she recorded 15 or more kills, including four matches in which she posted 20-plus kills. Her best performance of the seaosn came on September 30 at Frostburg State University in a 3-2 conference win. Venturelli totaled 31 kills on 97 total attacks to help lead Salisbury to victory and pick up its first CAC win of the season.
This is Venturelli's second season making the all-conference team, being named to the second team in 2016.
