DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference released weekly honors for the week ending September 17. The weekly accolades continue to roll in for Salisbury volleyball outside hitter Nicole Venturelli as she was named the ECAC Division III South Offensive Player of the Week.
Venturelli, who collected Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday, September 18, turned in a solid weekend for the maroon and gold at the Knights Invitational. Venturelli helped Salisbury to a 3-1 record totaling 72 kills in four matches, tallying 28 digs, and recording a hitting percentage of .279, and a pair of double-doubles.
In a 3-0 victory over host Neumann University, Venturelli posted a team-high and tied a season-high 19 kills. She would go on to set a new season-high for herself with 23 kills against Cabrini University. Venturelli would also notch 20 digs to pick up one of her two double-doubles.
Overall, Venturelli's 178 total kills and her average of 4.34 kills per set rank first in the CAC this season.
Salisbury returns to action on Friday, September 22 when it travels to Carnegie Mellon University for the Carnegie Mellon Volleyball Invitational. The Sea Gulls will take on Otterbein University at 6 p.m. before squaring off against host Carnegie Mellon at 8 p.m.
