LEXINGTON, Ky. – The postseason accolades continue to roll in for senior outside hitter Katie Stouffer. The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 2016 Division III regional awards on Thursday and recognized Stouffer naming her to the All-Region team for the North Region for the third consecutive year.
Stouffer amassed another impressive season for the Sea Gulls tallying 444 kills and averaging 4.48 per set, ranking her first in the CAC. On November 3 in the CAC Semifinal match against No. 24 Christopher Newport she totaled 22 kills to shatter the all-time kills record previously held by 2009 graduate Stacey Krebs. Stouffer now sits alone atop the record books with 1,747 kills for her decorated career.
The Frederick, Maryland native is tied for 25th in the nation with 444 kills while her average of 4.48 ranks her 12th. She also tallied a hitting percentage of .288, 161 digs, and 37 total blocks.
This is the fourth award Stouffer has garnished this postseason as she was named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year as well as earning her fourth straight selection to the All-CAC First Team. She also was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team for her third consecutive season.
