YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly volleyball awards on Tuesday, and Salisbury University junior Katie Stouffer was named the league's Player of the Week for the second time in 2015.
Stouffer led the Sea Gulls to a three-win week, including a pair of victories within the CAC, helping Salisbury to secure the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
This week, Stouffer averaged 5.30 kills per set to go with a .325 hitting percentage. She posted 19 kills in a four-set win against Marymount (Va.) University, and had 17 kills in a pair of three-set victories against York College of Pennsylvania and Lycoming College.
Stouffer leads the CAC and ranks third in the nation this season in kills per set, averaging 5.03 kills per set.
With the No. 2 seed in the CAC tournament, Salisbury earned a first-round bye and the right to host a semifinal game on Thursday, November 5 beginning at 7 p.m. The Sea Gulls will play the winner of tonight's University of Mary Washington/Frostburg State University first-round match.
