YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its weekly volleyball awards on Tuesday afternoon and Salisbury University junior Katie Stouffer was honored as the league's Player of the Week.
Stouffer led the Sea Gulls to a 4-1 week, including a four-win weekend to claim the team title in the Buttermaker Tournament, hosted by Muhlenberg College; Stouffer was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts.
In Salisbury's five matches last week, Stouffer came up with at least 15 kills in each, while registering a week-best 25 kills on a .305 hitting percentage in the Buttermaker championship match against Stevenson University. She also had five service aces through the week to go with 14 blocks and 18 digs.
With 183 kills this season, Stouffer ranks second in the nation and leads the CAC. She's also leads the league, and is third in the country, in total attacks with 439.
Salisbury will return to action this Friday and Saturday, September 18 and 19, at the Neumann Knights Invitational. The Sea Gulls start play in that event with a 4 p.m., match against Lebanon Valley College, on Friday.
