YORK, Pa. - Salisbury University goalkeeper Michelle Conrad was named the Capital Athletic Conference women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The junior from Smithtown, N.Y., had two penalty kick saves against Frostburg State University on Saturday, helping the Sea Gulls advance to the CAC semifinals. Conrad extended her scoreless streak to 271:18 after recording six saves against the Bobcats and combining for half of a clean sheet against Wesley College on Wednesday.
For the season, Conrad is 5-5-4 but is among the statistical leaders in the CAC. She is third in save percentage (.870), fourth in goals against (nine) and fifth in goals-against average (0.75). Conrad has seen action in 16 contests for the Sea Gulls this season and has not allowed a goal in 11 of those matches. She has not allowed an opponent to score in her last five appearances and currently has a shutout streak of 271:18.
The Sea Gulls will return to action Wednesday, Nov. 6, as they travel to Christopher Newport University for the CAC semifinals. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
