Women’s lacrosse holds No. 3 position in national rankings

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released the Division III Coaches Poll on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University remained at the No. 3 spot.

The Sea Gulls received 576 points and one first-place vote to come in at No. 3. Salisbury won its only game of the week, defeating St. Mary's College of Maryland 20-8 in the regular season finale.

The top seven teams remained the same in the poll, with The College of New Jersey coming in at No. 1 with 622 points and 23 first-place votes. Amherst College received the final first-place vote and 601 points, while Gettysburg College came in behind Salisbury at No. 4 with 548 points, and York College of Pennsylvania checked in at No. 5 with 523 points.

The University of Mary Washington moved up one spot to No. 8 with 434 points, giving the Capital Athletic Conference three of the top eight teams in the nation.

Salisbury hosts Christopher Newport University in semifinal action of the CAC tournament on Wednesday, May 2. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
