YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its women's lacrosse accolades for the week, and sophomore Kieran Kelleher of the No. 10 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Kelleher put together a great week in the back field, helping guide the Sea Gulls to a 3-0 week. With victories over the State University of New York at Brockport and CAC opponent Southern Virginia University, Kelleher and the Sea Gull defense only allowed a combined four goals through the two contests.
In its final game of the week against then-No. 2 State University of New York at Cortland, Salisbury pulled out a 13-11 upset, seeing Kelleher have a career day on the back line. The Ellicott City, Maryland native posted game highs in ground balls and caused turnovers with three apiece.
For the week, she had four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Kelleher and the Sea Gulls travel to No. 1 Franklin & Marshall College on Wednesday, March 25 for their next contest. First draw is set for 7 p.m.
