Video: Women's Basketball vs. St. Mary's (Md.)
The Salisbury University women’s basketball team returned home on Saturday afternoon to host Capital Athletic Conference opponent the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Seahawks. The Sea Gulls spread the ball around and received scoring contributions up and down the lineup as 11 different players recorded at least one point in the first half. Jada Welbon made her mark late in the half with back-to-back triples just 46 seconds apart. Salisbury continued its strong defensive play in the second half, while senior Kaylyn French led the charge offensively with 11 second-half points. The Sea Gulls went on to win, 53-25, marking the lowest number of points allowed to an opponent since the 2006-2007 season. The team returns to action on Wednesday, January 30 when it hosts CAC opponent the University of Mary Washington. Opening tip is set for 5:30 p.m.
