SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team picked up a 6-3 win against visiting Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday morning at the Salisbury University Tennis Courts.
The Sea Gulls (9-4) earned two wins in doubles play to take a 2-1 advantage into singles play. Juniors Ian Siew and Colt Williamson picked up an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles while the other two ended in tiebreakers, with each match ending 8-7 (7-4). Senior Kelson Weber and freshman Brad Pappalardo were able to claim the No. 3 match while juniors Patrick MacLean and Alec Angradi dropped the No. 2 match.
In singles, Salisbury was able to seal the victory with wins in the top four spots. Angradi picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 while Siew won by the same scored at No. 2. Williamson earned a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 win at No. 3 and Weber won 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) at No. 4.
The Diplomats (3-4) were able to pick up two singles points with MacLean falling at No. 5 singles by a 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 score and junior Matthew Ryan dropping 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 contest at No. 6.
The Sea Gulls will be back on the SU Tennis Courts on Sunday, March 31 taking on Penn State Uniersity-Harrisburg and York College of Pennsylvania. The match against the Lions was scheduled for 10 a.m., it has now been moved up an hour to a 9 a.m., start.
