BALTIMORE - The Salisbury University men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Johns Hopkins University on Saturday afternoon. Despite two victories on the men's side and a valiant effort by Salisbury's women, both teams fell to the nationally-ranked Blue Jays.
Senior Evan Thomas (Salisbury, Md.) led the way for Salisbury as he captured the Sea Gulls' only singles win of the day, in the No. 3 spot. On the women's side (10-2, 4-1 CAC), freshman Jillian Poppe (Califon, N.J.) put up a solid fight in the No. 4 singles spot against Hopkins player Mallory Willenborg, forcing the match to go to three sets.
