Burtzlaff named CAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. – The No. 14-ranked Salisbury University men’s tennis team is on a seven-match win streak, and one individual’s contribution to the Sea Gulls’ success was recognized on Tuesday as senior Scott Burtzlaff (Clarksville, Md.) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. This is the first time this season that Burtzlaff stands alone with the honor, as he was named the CAC Co-Player of the Week back on March 2.

Burtzlaff was instrumental in Salisbury’s win against No. 23-ranked Hampden-Sydney College, registering a straight-sets victory at No. 1 singles. The Clarksville, Md., native later teamed up with senior Evan Thomas (Salisbury, Md.) at No. 1 doubles, notching a 9-7 victory. The duo is currently ranked No. 3 in the Atlantic South Region.

The Sea Gulls’ next contest is a conference match-up against the University of Mary Washington, on the road, on April 7 at 3:30 p.m.
