Sea Gull men's and women's tennis notch a pair of 9-0 victories over Virginia Wesleyan College

NORFOLK, Va. – The Salisbury University men’s and women’s tennis program picked up a pair of 9-0 non-conference wins on Tuesday at Virginia Wesleyan College.

The Sea Gull men (5-4) were led by freshman Henry Stuhler (Bay Head, N.J.) as he notched a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles. The doubles team of senior Marcus Robinson (Cambridge, Md.) and junior David Lupinetti (Walkersville, Md.) dominated play at No. 1 doubles, as they notched an 8-0 victory.

The Salisbury women (7-0) were led by senior Kelly Fahrner (Germantown, Md.) who won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. The No. 3 doubles team of junior Angela Tenaglia (Clarksville, Md.) and freshman Elaina Iosue (Damascus, Md.) were the top doubles pair as they captured an 8-1 victory.

Both teams will be in action this weekend at the SU Indoor Tennis Center, with the men starting the day off with a contest against Kalamazoo College at 9 a.m. At noon the men and women will each take St. Mary’s (Md.) College in a Capital Athletic Conference match. Those matches will be played outside at the SU Tennis Courts.
