YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference coaches' preseason swimming polls were released on Friday and the Salisbury University men's swimming team was picked to finish fifth (12 points), while the women were picked to tie Marymount (Va.) University for third place with 15 points.
On the men's side, University of Mary Washington was tabbed as the top team with 25 points and five of the six first-place votes. Picking up the last remaining first-place vote and coming in second place was York College of Pennsylvania with 21 points. Rounding out the poll was St. Mary's College of Maryland with 14 points, Marymount with 13 points, Salisbury with 12 points, and Frostburg State University with five points.

For the women, Mary Washington repeated as the top team, once again getting five of the six first-place votes and 25 points. St. Mary's was picked to finish second with 18 points and got the final first-place vote. Salisbury and Marymount then tied for the third place spot with 15 points. York and Frostburg State rounded out the poll with 10 and seven points, respectively.

Both the men's and women's swimming teams open up their seasons on Saturday, October 24 on the campus of Salisbury at the Maggs Physical Activities Center versus Catholic University of America. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
