Eyigor named CAC men's swimming Athlete of the Week

YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday afternoon and freshman Okan Eyigor was named the conference's men's swimming Athlete of the Week.

The Sea Gulls fell to Catholic University 121.5-83.5 Saturday afternoon, but the Istanbul, Turkey native was able to tally two first-place finishes in just his third collegiate meet.

Eyigor broke the 15-year-old pool record in the 100 backstroke set by former swimmer, Chris Bembenek, with a time of 59.45.

He also took first place in the 200 freestyle (2:01.85), and contributed to the second-place 800 freestyle relay (8:23.23) to collect 22 points for the day.

Salisbury heads to Washington (Md.) College for its next meet on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The meet is scheduled for 6 p.m.
