SU makes a splash in York's "Swim for a Cure"

YORK, Pa. – Many Salisbury University athletic teams take on the fight against cancer and the men's and women's swimming teams did just that last weekend at York (Pa.) College. The Sea Gulls participated in York's "Swim for a Cure" on Friday, Dec. 2, as they competed in a tri-meet against Goucher College and York College. Both the men's and women's teams earned a split, defeating Goucher but falling to York.

The three teams were able to raise $625 to contribute to breast cancer awareness, with the Sea Gulls raising $570 of that total.  Since 2008, the men's and women's swimming teams have helped raised $1,942 in support of cancer research.

Salisbury will take a break from competition until 2012 when it will host their second home meet on Saturday, Jan. 7. The Sea Gulls will take on Hood College in their third Capital Athletic Conference meet scheduled for 1 p.m.
