FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners for men's soccer on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University junior Matt Mackenzie was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week.
Mackenzie scored the game-winner against No. 8 University of Mary Washington on Saturday with just 2:39 remaining in regulation. His goal, which handed the Eagles their first loss of the season, came on a free kick from 25 yards out. Mackenzie's goal was the first of his career.
Salisbury concludes its regular season home slate on Wednesday, October 17 against Christopher Newport University at 4 p.m.
