BALTIMORE – Inside Lacrosse released its weekly media poll on Thursday morning and Salisbury University remained atop the Division III lacrosse world as the No. 1 team in the nation.
Salisbury completed a 2-0 week that included a 13-5 victory over then No. 6 Cabrini University on Wednesday, March 27. The Sea Gulls picked up 11 of the possible 12 first-place votes while the team earned 239 points.
Amherst College garnered the other first-place vote while it totaled 228 points to hold at No. 2. Tufts University held strong at No. 3 totaling 216 points, while Rochester Institute of Technology, which tallied 204 points, remained in the No. 4 spot.
Capital Athletic Conference rival York College of Pennsylvania rounded out the top five as the Spartans garnered 192 points. Meanwhile, Christopher Newport University, which recorded 28 points, fell three spots in this week's poll to No. 19 in the nation.
Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, April 6 when it travels to Frostburg State University. Faceoff between the Sea Gulls and Bobcats is set for 11 a.m.
