BALTIMORE – Inside Lacrosse released it weekly media poll on Wednesday morning and Salisbury remained atop the Division III lacrosse world as it was voted the unanimous top team in the nation.
The Sea Gulls turned in a 1-0 week defeating State University of New York at Geneseo 18-3 on Saturday, March 23. The maroon and gold collected all 13 first-place votes while it also totaled 260 points in the poll.
Amherst College (244) retained the No. 2 spot in the poll while Tufts University (237) and Rochester Institute of Technology (219) held on to the No. 3 and No. 4 spots respectively. Capital Athletic Conference rival York College of Pennsylvania round out the top five as the Spartans collected 206 points.
Christopher Newport University (67) rounded out the list of CAC teams in the poll as the Captains fell one spot in this week's poll coming in at No. 16.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, March 27 when it travels to No. 6 Cabrini University for a 7 p.m. contest with the Cavaliers.
