
SALISBURY, Md. – The athletic departments at Salisbury University and the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore along with the Wicomico Country Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism are set to hold the second-annual 10-Mile Tipoff on Wednesday, Oct. 30 to support the Wicomico Youth Basketball League (WYBL).
This year's edition of the 10-Mile Tipoff will feature a men's basketball game featuring the Sea Gulls and Hawks starting at 8 p.m. at the William P. Hytche Athletic Center on the UMES campus.
Proceeds from the event will again benefit a scholarship fund for players up to the sixth grade participating in the WYBL.
Tickets for the event will be $5 at the game while students from both universities will be admitted free with a student ID.
The WYBL is a volunteer coach-led league that focuses on age-appropriate skill development, basic terminology and fundamentals of the game of basketball.
