SALISBURY, Md. – Before delving into regular season play, the Salisbury University men's basketball team will travel down Route 13 for a preseason tune-up against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday, Nov. 12. That contest is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available to the public for $5, and can be purchased at the door at the Hytche Center on game night.
"We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to play University of Maryland Eastern Shore," Head Coach Josh Merkel said about the upcoming contest. "We have a great deal of respect for Coach Frankie Allen and his program and we are looking forward to the challenge of competing against high-level players. Being only 15 minutes away from Salisbury University, this is a great opportunity for SU students to watch us play in a loud and competitive atmosphere. It will be a fun game for our young men and will give us great feedback about what we can do to improve."
This will be the 12th meeting between the two schools all time, with UMES holding an 8-3 advantage in the series.
The Sea Gulls open their season three nights later, Friday, Nov. 15, staying on the Eastern Shore, traveling to Chestertown, Md., to take on Washington College. Tip-off for the season opener is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
