GILBERT, Ariz. – The most recent Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday, and the Salisbury University field hockey team checked in at No. 8.
The Sea Gulls (11-2, 2-0 Capital Athletic Conference), who have oscillated between the No. 7 and No. 8 rankings since September 25, earned 847 points in this week's poll. Salisbury had a 2-0 week, defeating Wesley College, 4-0, on October 10 before earning a 5-0 victory against CAC opponent the University of Mary Washington on October 13.
The top three teams in the nation remain unchanged: Middlebury College at No. 1 with 1,291 points, Messiah College at No. 2 with 1,221 points, and Tufts University at No. 3 with 1,113 points. Last week's No. 4 and No. 5 teams, The College of New Jersey and Rowan University, flipped spots this week – Rowan comes in at the No. 4 spot with 1,073 points, and TCNJ rounds out the top five with 939 points.
Salisbury is set to square off at CAC opponent York College of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, October 17, at 4:30 p.m.
