Doug Fleetwood enters his 20th season on the SU staff in 2019. He serves as the offensive line coach and the recruiting coordinator for the program.
Since 2010, the Salisbury rushing attack ranked in the top 10 in Division III for yards per game and total yardage. Fleetwood’s offensive front helped Salisbury lead the nation in rushing offense with 3,834 yards and 348.5 yards per game in 2018.
In 2017 Fleetwood’s offensive line helped pave the way for the eighth-best rushing attack in the nation that accounted for 283.7 rush yards per game last season while racking up a total of 3,121 yards overall while scoring 37 times on the ground.
In 2016 Fleetwood’s offense ranked second in the nation in rushing, averaging 376.6 yards per game. The Sea Gull passing game also was effective, as the Gulls were third in the nation in yards per completion at 20.13 and 11th in passing efficiency, with a team passer rating of 16.15.
Fleetwood also served as the Salisbury head baseball coach for 14 seasons, completing his run in 2014. He led the program to the Division III World Series four times, compiling a 476-147-6 record.
The Cambridge, Md. native and graduate of SU, served 21 years in the high school ranks at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School as the head football coach. In 2002, he was inducted into the Maryland Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Fleetwood has a son Ryan and daughter Brooke. He resides in Salisbury with wife Debbie.
Fleetwood is the main recruiter for the following areas: Allegheny, Anne Arundel, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, and Montgomery County and Queen Anne’s, North Caroline, Cambridge-South Dorchester High Schools in Maryland and New York as well as transfer students
