Football moves up to No. 18 in poll

MINNEAPOLIS – The organization released its week nine Division III Top 25 Football Poll on Monday morning and Salisbury University climbed up seven spots to the No. 18 ranking in the nation.

Salisbury moved up after posting a convincing 45-7 victory over Rowan University on Saturday afternoon. Kadarrius Campbell and Jack Navitsky aided in a Sea Gull rushing attack that racked up 496 yards against the Profs defense rushing for 149 and 113 yards respectively while combining for four touchdowns.

The top five teams in the country remained the same as the University of Mount Union stayed atop the Division III football world receiving 20 of the possible 25 first-place votes and garnering 619 points while University of Mary Hardin-Baylor racked up 605 points to remain at No. 2. The College at Brockport remained in third as it garnered 552 points, while St. John's University (543) and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (534) rounded out the top five coming in at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.

The Sea Gulls were joined by fellow New Jersey Athletic Conference opponent Frostburg State University, which remained just outside at the top five holding steady at No. 6.

Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, November 3 when it hosts rival Wesley College. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium.
