Football climbs to No. 15 in poll

MINNEAPOLIS – The Salisbury University football team climbed eight spots in this week's poll rising to No. 15 in the nation.

The Sea Gulls made the jump by topping then-No. 16 Albright College on Friday night, 34-18, in front of nearly 4,000 in Sea Gull Stadium. Salisbury collected 239 points in this week's poll, just 17 points behind No. 14 Delaware Valley University.

The teams in the top five spots remain the same, led by the University of Mount Union, with 611 points and 16 first-place votes, followed by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (588 points and four first-place votes), Linfield College (576 points and four first-place votes), University of St. Thomas-Minnesota (551 points and one first-place vote), and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (532 points).

Salisbury will not play this Saturday, getting back to the field on September 17, hosting Montclair State University in the team's NJAC opener.
