Salisbury jumps to No. 18 in poll

MINNEAPOLIS - The Salisbury University football team made a five-spot jump in the Top 25 poll to No. 18 in the country, the organization announced on Sunday.

The Sea Gulls defeated New Jersey Athletic Conference-foe Kean University on Saturday 45-33, earning them 168 points in the poll and moving up from No. 23. Salisbury improved its record to 5-1 and 5-0 in the NJAC on the year with the win.

After No. 4 Wesley College defeated Rowan University, the Gulls continue to share the NJAC top spot with the Wolverines.

The top five in the poll remained the same with No. 1 University of Mount Union earning 619 points and 19 first-place votes for the top spot. No. 2 Linfield College (599 points and six first-place votes), No. 3 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (572 points), No. 4 Wesley (537 points), and No. 5 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (513 points) rounded out the top five.

The Sea Gulls are next in action on Saturday, October 31 at Sea Gull Stadium, hosting Christopher Newport University in NJAC action. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
