Sea Gulls climb back into poll at No. 24

MINNEAPOLIS – On the heels of a 42-35 win against then-No. 19 St. John Fisher College on Saturday, the Salisbury University football team has climbed back into the top 25 poll, landing at No. 24, the website announced on Sunday night.

Salisbury (4-2, 3-0 Empire 8 Athletic Conference) earned 51 points in this week's poll, just ahead of St. John Fisher, which fell to No. 25 (45 points) following Saturday's contest.

The University of Mount Union sits atop the poll with 609 points and 16 first-place votes. Linfield College is second with 597 points and six first-place votes and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor rounds out the top three with 591 points and three first-place votes.

Salisbury began the 2013 season ranked No. 16 in the nation before a season-opening loss to Christopher Newport University knocked the Gulls from the rankings.

Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, October 26, traveling to Hartwick College for a 2 p.m., kickoff.
