Gamble, Moore named BSN Players of the Week

LEESBURG, Va. – Salisbury University sophomore linebacker Steven Gamble and senior corner back Paul Moore have been named Beyond Sports Network Division III Players of the Week for Week 6, the website announced on Monday.

Gamble posted career highs of 14 tackles (nine solo), 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss to help the No. 10 Sea Gulls to a come-from-behind 28-17 win at No. 8 St. John Fisher College. Gamble set up the go-ahead touchdown with a forced fumble and recovery at the Cardinals 6-yard line in the fourth quarter.

Gamble leads Salisbury (4-1, 2-0 Empire 8) with 35 total tackles, and 4.5 for loss in five games this season.

Moore sealed the win with a 32-yard interception return for a touchdown with 2:59 remaining. He also recorded four solo tackles.

Moore has 16 tackles, 2.5 for loss, two picks and five passes broken up.

BSN is a sports media site that features colleges and players from the FCS, Division II, Division III, and NAIA levels. The staff selects award winners for Offensive Line of the Week, Defense of the Week, Offensive Players of the Week, Defensive Players of the Week and Special Teams Players of the Week.

Salisbury returns to Sea Gull Stadium Saturday to host Hartwick College for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
