SU moves back into top 10 of poll

MINNEAPOLIS – The Salisbury University football team is back in the top 10 of the top 25 poll, coming in at No. 10, the website announced Sunday.

Salisbury (8-1, 6-0 Empire 8) claimed the Empire 8's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament and at least a share of the league title with a 41-21 Homecoming win over St. John Fisher College Saturday.

SU earned 362 points in the poll, behind No. 9 Wabash College with 388.

The top seven teams in the poll remained unchanged from last week. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (20) and University of Mount Union (five) shared first-place votes and received 620 and 604 points, respectively.

Salisbury closes the regular season Saturday, Nov. 12, hosting Frostburg State University in the 13th annual Regents' Cup game at Sea Gull Stadium. Kickoff time is to be announced. A victory against the Bobcats would give SU its first outright conference title in football since winning two consecutive in the Atlantic Central Football Conference in 2004 and '05.
