Men's cross country tabbed to finish third in CAC

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its preseason coaches' poll for men's cross country on Thursday morning and the Salisbury University squad was selected to finish third in the league.

The Sea Gulls received 37 points in the poll, following only preseason favorite Christopher Newport University (48 points, six first-place votes) and York College of Pennsylvania (42 points, two first-place votes).

The University of Mary Washington (33 points) was picked fourth, followed by Southern Virginia University (25), Frostburg State University (18), St. Mary's College of Maryland (14), and Penn State University-Harrisburg (7).

The Sea Gulls open the season by hosting the Salisbury University Fall Classic at Winter Place Park on Saturday, September 1. That meet will begin at 9:45 a.m.

The CAC championships will be hosted by Southern Virginia on October 27.
