Foianini, Oduor garner ECAC weekly accolades

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference released weekly honors for the week ending September 17. Salisbury University cross country swept the weekly awards as both Branson Oduor and Liana Foianini earned recognition from the ECAC. Oduor was named Division III South Runner of the Week while Foianini was named Division III South Rookie of the Week.

Oduor, who collected Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors earlier in the week, picked up Runner of the Week honors after his stellar performance at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. He completed the race in a time of 25:26.31 to finish third out of 315 total runners. His time was just four seconds behind the first-place finisher, who completed the race in a time of 25:22.67.

Foianini, who also garnered CAC Athlete of the Week honors, was named Rookie of the Week for her performance at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. She paced the women's team with a 24th-place finish in the 5,000-meter race coming home in a time of 19:16.74.

Salisbury returns to action on September 30 when it hosts the annual Don Cathcart Invitational at Winter Place Park. The meet is scheduled to start at 9:45 a.m.
