SU mens cross country enters season as No. 10 team in Mideast Region
NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has released its Division III preseason cross country rankings and Salisbury University men's team will open the season as the No. 10 team in the Mideast Region.
The Sea Gulls ran in five regular-season meets in 2008, winning two of them, and went on to win the CAC Championship in November. Salisbury finished 11th of 43 teams in the NCAA Regional Championship in Waynesburg, Pa.
Salisbury opens its 2009 season at home on Sept. 5 when it hosts the Sea Gull Opener at Winterplace Park. It's the first of two home meets on the Sea Gulls' schedule. The other will be the Don Cathcart Invitational, also held at Winterplace Park, on Sept. 26. Both meets are slated to begin at 10 a.m.
