SU Men's Cross Country squad receives scholar team award
NEW ORLEANS -The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its 2010 Division III scholar teams, and the Salisbury University men's cross country team received All-Academic team honors for its impressive cumulative grade point average of 3.42 for the semester.
York (Pa.) College and Salisbury are the two representatives from the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) to receive the recognition. A record total of 110 Division III men's programs received the USTFCCCA's All-Academic honors this year, compared to 103 schools earning the honor last season.
Six of the top ten and an incredible 20 of the top 25 teams in the championship field at this year's NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships were named USTFCCCA All-Academic teams.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic team award, the team must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.10 cumulative grade point average.
