  • Venturelli named First Team All-CAC

    The Capital Athletic Conference league office released its 2017 CAC volleyball season awards on Tuesday morning. Junior outside hitter Nicole Venturelli earned recognition from league coaches as she was named First Team All-CAC for the first time in her career.

    The Salisbury University volleyball team's season came to an end on Thursday at the hands of the No. 23 and top-seeded Christopher Newport University 3-1 in the semifinal round of the Capital Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament. It marked the fifth time in the last five years these two programs have met in the playoffs with Christopher Newport picking up the victory.

    The Salisbury University volleyball team will travel to No. 23 and top-seeded Christopher Newport University for the semifinals of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday, November 2. It will be a rematch of last season's semifinal match, which the Captains won 3-2 at Salisbury.

    For the seventh time Salisbury University and York College of Pennsylvania met in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament with Salisbury claiming the match by the final of 3-2. For anyone who was present for the Salisbury vs. York (Pa.) on October 20, it was déjà vu all over again. For the second time this season the Sea Gulls and Spartans went to a thrilling fifth set after the Gulls rallied back from a 2-0 deficit. Only this time it was Salisbury coming out on top to complete the dramatic comeback, 3-2.

    The Salisbury University volleyball team will host York College of Pennsylvania on Tuesday night in first round action of the Capital Athletic Conference volleyball tournament. It is the second time in just 11 days that these two teams have met.

    The Salisbury University volleyball team dropped its final match of the regular season, 3-0, to host Virginia Wesleyan University on Friday night. The Sea Gulls were swept for just the second time this season with the other time coming against now No. 6 Carnegie Mellon University back on September 22.
  • Sea Gulls close out CAC play with 3-1 victory over Wesley

    The Salisbury University volleyball team rounded out Capital Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night with a 3-1 victory over Wesley College. The Sea Gulls will now await the results of this weekend’s final CAC matches to see who and where they will play in the CAC playoffs.

Senior Alexis Howatt capped off the weekend picking up the 1,500th assist of her career in the second match of the day.

The Sea Gulls are a half game behind the Spartans in the Capital Athletic Conference standings with one week in the regular season left to play.

The Sea Gulls jumped out to an early 1-0 lead and held off the Eagles in the final two sets to seal the win and get back to .500 in the CAC.

    The Salisbury University volleyball team swept the opening day of the CUA Guetle Invitational defeating Ursinus College 3-0 and William Peace University 3-0. With the pair of victories Sea Gulls Head Coach Justin Turco picked up his 100th win as the head coach of the maroon and gold becoming only the third coach in Salisbury volleyball history, Arden Peck and Margie Knight, to win 100 matches.

    Salisbury University volleyball welcomed four teams to town on Friday evening when it kicked off the 2017 Sea Gull Classic at Maggs Physical Activities Center. The Sea Gulls came flying out of the gates this season sweeping Friday night's matches to begin the season 2-0 defeating Medaille College and Swarthmore College both in straight sets.

  • Volleyball earns 2016-17 AVCA Team Academic Award

    The Salisbury University women's volleyball team has been awarded the 2016-17 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The Sea Gulls were one of 822 teams to receive the honor, and this marked the third straight year they have received this honor. The Sea Gulls joined 149 other NCAA Division III Women Volleyball teams, which earned recognition for outstanding academics during 2016-17 school year.
