Volleyball beats York on the road

YORK, Pa. – Salisbury University volleyball defeated York College of Pennsylvania on Friday night by the final score of 3-0. The Sea Gulls totaled 39 kills in the match and posted 12 blocks.

Salisbury won by scores of 25-18, 25-13, and had to battle to win by two, 27-25 in the decisive third set.

Offensively, Katie Stouffer and Nicole Venturelli led the Sea Gulls' attack recording 12 kills each. Jordan Lawson was second on the team with eight but posted a team-high hitting percentage of .615.

Defensively, three Salisbury players totaled double digit digs. Shannon Russell posted a team-high 26 while Krista Pecenka and Gina Fischetti tallied 11 and 10 respectively. Gianna Savarese totaled a team-best six blocks in the victory while Samantha Chubb tallied five.

The Sea Gulls will travel to Christopher Newport on October 7 for a 7 p.m. match.
