Stouffer earns second CAC Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. – The Salisbury University volleyball team received its second Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as sophomore outside hitter Katie Stouffer was honored for the second time in 2014, after leading the team to two conference wins and a CAC tournament berth last week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Needing two wins to reach the conference tournament with two matches remaining in the season, Stouffer led the Gulls to a 3-0 sweep of Wesley College on Wednesday with 11 kills, before tallying 14 on Saturday in another three-set sweep, this time at Frostburg State University.

She held a .489 attack percentage for the week, needing only 45 attack attempts for a team-high 25 kills on the week; Stouffer only had three attack errors between the two matches.

With the CAC tournament nod, the Sea Gulls begin play on Tuesday evening at Marymount (Va.) University; the match is set for 7 p.m.
