LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Salisbury University volleyball team fell two places in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Coaches' poll to No. 25, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The Sea Gulls were named the champions of the Blue Jay Classic at Elizabethtown College on Friday and Saturday, winning three of their four matches.
Salisbury defeated Richard Stockton College of New Jersey on Friday, 3-0, before falling to University of Rochester (N.Y.), 3-2.
On Saturday, the Gulls earned a pair of 3-0 wins over Cairn University and State University of New York at Cortland.
SU earned 85 points in the poll, while the top five remained unchanged with No. 1 Calvin College (1,200 points, 48 first-place votes), No. 2 Hope College (1,103 points), No. 3 University of St. Thomas, Minnesota (1,085 points), No. 4 Emory University (1,051 points) and No. 5 California Lutheran University (1,009).
Salisbury will be in action again on Wednesday night, as it hosts Washington (Md.) College at Maggs Physical Activities Center at 7 p.m., for the Sea Gulls' first home match of the season.
