Sea Gulls move up to No. 21 in latest AVCA poll
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Salisbury University volleyball team moved up one spot to No. 21 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Coaches Top 25 Poll released Tuesday.
Salisbury (32-1) earned 103 points and sits ahead of No. 22 Christopher Newport University, who the Sea Gulls defeated 3-2 on October 3, for another week. This is the fourth straight week the maroon and gold has been ranked in the AVCA poll. When Salisbury made its debut in the AVCA poll it marked the first-time in program history the Sea Gulls had ever been ranked.
The Sea Gulls have won a nation best 32 consecutive matches and have not lost since August 29 to No. 1 Juniata College. Salisbury has the most wins of all of the top 25 teams in the latest poll. SU is one of only two teams in the top 25 to have only one loss. There are no undefeated teams in the top 25.
Salisbury concludes the regular-season with a final Capital Athletic Conference match on the road against Gallaudet University on Wednesday, October 29, at 7 p.m.
