HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team won 9-0 in each of its two Capital Athletic Conference matches on Friday, at York College of Pennsylvania and Penn State University-Harrisburg.
Salisbury 9, Penn St.-Harrisburg 0
The Sea Gulls opened their day with a quick sweep of doubles play, claiming the No. 2 and No. 3 matches by 8-0 scores. Sophomore Jordan Schaefer and freshman Sydney Soto earned the No. 2 match with senior Sage Cole and junior Taylor Cooper picking up the No. 3 victory.
Singles play saw three Sea Gulls wins by 6-0, 6-0 scores with Schaefer winning at No. 3, Ariana Leggio earning the No. 5 win and Cole winning at No. 6.
Junior Shannon Hickman picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 with Cooper winning 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 and Soto earning a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 to seal the nine-point win.

The Sea Gulls' second match was slightly closer, with Salisbury (12-3, 4-0 CAC) winning all three doubles contests by 8-3 scores. Kwedi and Kezman did so at No. 1, with Schaefer and Soto winning at No. 2 and Cooper and Cole picking up the victory at No. 3.
Hickman earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles with Schaefer taking a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5.
Cooper picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 and it was Kwedi taking a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2. The final two points came from a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 thanks to Kezman, and a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 4 by Soto.
Salisbury heads to No. 24 Christopher Newport University next Saturday, April 14 for the team's next match. That contest is slated to begin at noon.
