SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team took its seventh win of the season overcoming Stevenson University, 9-0, at the SU Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon.
The Sea Gulls took their first three points of the day in doubles. At No. 1 doubles senior Natalie Savage and junior Zoe Moffat, and at No. 2 Claudia Lohn and Megan Soderlund never let up any games with 8-0 victories. At No. 3 doubles senior Megan Knapp and freshman Taylor Cooper also had an impressive 8-1 victory to seal the three points.
In singles play, Salisbury took all six singles wins. At the No. 2 spot, Moffat had a notable match. During the first set she never gave up a single point, earning the 6-0 first set score. In her second set, also 6-0, Moffat gave up a total of just two points.
Moffat led the Sea Gulls who each won their singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Savage claimed the shutout win at No. 1, Soderlund did so at No. 3, while Cooper and Knapp claimed the wins at No. 4 and 5, respectively. Sophomore Sage Cole was good for the 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 to close out the Salisbury scoring.
The Sea Gulls now head west for their annual spring break trip, traveling to California. Salisbury will play at Hope International University on Monday, March 14, starting at 4 p.m.
