DANBURY, Conn. – Senior Katie Youlios, of the Salisbury University women's tennis team, was named this week's Eastern College Athletic Conference South Player of the Week, the organization announced.
In the past two weeks, Youlios posted a perfect record of 2-0 at No. 2 singles and 3-0 at No. 1 doubles, with teammate Natalie Savage.
In Salisbury's win again the No. 12 team in the region, Millsaps College, Youlios scored a 6-2, 7-5 win in singles and alongside Savage, the pair won 8-6 against Millsaps' top doubles pair. In singles against Haverford College Youlios took a win by a 7-5, 7-5 score. During that match in doubles, the Sea Gulls' top pair won 8-6 against their counterparts from Haverford. Youlios and Savage collected an 8-3 win and Youlios led 3-2 in singles play before the match was postponed against Franklin & Marshall College.
The Sea Gull women look forward to a match on Sunday, March 15 at Chapman University set to begin at 8 p.m., eastern time, during the team's spring break trip to California.
