Women's tennis picked to finish third in CAC by coaches

YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its women's tennis preseason coaches' poll on Tuesday, and Salisbury University was picked to finish in third in the conference.

The Sea Gulls, who have won two CAC championships and advanced to the NCAA tournament four times, collected 39 points in the poll, while the University of Mary Washington collected 49 points, and the maximum seven first-place votes, being chosen as the top team. Christopher Newport University earned the final first-place vote and 41 points to be named the No. 2 team in the league.

The pull is completed by St. Mary's College of Maryland (30 points), York College of Pennsylvania (22), Southern Virginia University (18), Frostburg State University (17) and Penn State University-Harrisburg (8).

Salisbury has competed in five matches in the 2015 season, with four wins, including three straight. Salisbury will play its next eight matches away from home, starting with a contest at Franklin & Marshall College on Friday, March 6.
