SALISBURY, Md. – The Capital One Academic All-District Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, were announced for the at-large teams and Salisbury University sophomore Natalie Savage was named to the District 2 team.
Savage, a standout on the women's tennis team, played at the top of the lineup throughout the 2014 season, posting a 13-6 record in singles play, all at the No. 1 position, while registering a 13-7 mark at No. 1 doubles, primarily with playing partner Roxanne Alban.
Savage was named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference first team for singles, with an unblemished 6-0 mark in CAC play this year, and second team for doubles this season.
The Academic At-Large Teams are composed of student-athletes from tennis, swimming, field hockey, and lacrosse, among others.
To be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve on their team. Savage carries a 3.94 GPA as an accounting major.
Savage is now eligible for selection to the Capital One Academic All-American Team. The Academic All-American At-Large Team will be announced on Tuesday, June 3.
