Alban claims women's tennis CAC Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly tennis awards on Tuesday and Salisbury University junior Roxanne Alban was named the Women's Player of the Week.

Alban led the Sea Gulls (3-2) to a two-win week as Salisbury topped Goucher College, 8-1 on Friday, and defeated Dickinson College, 6-2 on Saturday.

The Annapolis, Md., native was a perfect 4-0 on the week, winning both singles matches, at No. 2, and both doubles matches, at No. 1, with sophomore partner Natalie Savage.

Alban won 6-0, 6-0 in singles against Goucher and claimed a 6-3, 6-1 win in singles against Dickinson. In doubles play, she and Savage picked up wins of 8-2, against Goucher, and 8-4, against Dickinson, on the weekend.

Alban is 7-3 in all matches this season.

The Sea Gulls will next be in action in Southern California for their spring break trip, taking on Chapman University on Monday, March 17.
