SALISBURY, Md. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly tennis awards Tuesday and Salisbury University freshman Natalie Savage earned the Women's Player of the Week award for the second straight week after attaining a 4-0 record.
Savage collected two wins at No. 1 singles including a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Haverford College's Courtney Gallagher, who is ranked No. 14 in the Atlantic South region, on Sunday, improving her overall record to 18-1, 10-0 at No. 1.
Savage and sophomore Roxanne Alban also picked up two victories at No. 1 doubles, including an 8-2 win over Gallagher and Alex Ferrara, ranked No. 9 in the Atlantic South, improving their record to 8-0 together.
The Sea Gulls are the No. 2 seed in the CAC tournament and begin action today in a CAC semifinal match against St. Mary's College of Maryland. The match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
