YORK, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team had four athletes named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference team on Thursday. This marks the fifth year in a row that the team has had at least four student-athletes honored with the award.
Senior Angela Tenaglia and sophomore Jillian Poppe led the charge with first-team selections for both doubles and singles. Tenaglia and Poppe are doubles partners. This is the second year in a row that Poppe has been named to the first team in both categories. Last season, Poppe earned first team All-CAC in both singles and doubles events, along with being named the CAC Women's Tennis Rookie of the Year.
Tenaglia was previously honored with an All-CAC second-team singles selection in 2010.
The pair was joined by sophomore Elaina Iosue on the first-team singles All-CAC team. This is Iosue's first time being honored as an All-CAC athlete.
She, along with doubles partner and fellow sophomore Victoria Handlin, was named second-team all-conference for her performance in doubles play this season. This is also Handlin's first selection to an All-CAC team.
