SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University
women's tennis team hosted Capital Athletic Conference opponent
Wesley College Saturday afternoon and pulled off a 9-0 sweep of the
Wolverines.
In doubles action, Salisbury (10-2, 3-0 CAC) junior pair
Robyn Wendell and Hannah Parsons
swept at No. 2 double while junior Lauren Bakker
and freshman Angela Tenaglia followed suit with an
8-0 victory of their own at No. 3 doubles. Junior Anna
Marie Kable and sophomore Jackie Burr won
8-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Salisbury won its No. 3 through No. 6 singles matches with
perfect 6-0, 6-0 shutout victories, while match No. 1 between
sophomore Kelly Fahrner and Lauren Tarver took
three sets to decide. Fahrner dropped the first set 4-6 but rallied
to take the final two sets 6-4, 10-7. The Sea Gulls that earned
singles victories were Fahrner, Rachel Iosue,
Burr, Kristin King, Julia Glanz
and Bakker.
The Sea Gulls will host Villa Julie College tomorrow (Sunday,
March 29) at Noon.
