Mar 25, 2008 Kable named CAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the WeekNORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Capital Athletic
Conference announced its weekly conference athlete of the week
awards and Salisbury University junior Anna Marie
Kable (Parkton, Md./Notre Dame) was named the women's
tennis recipient for the week of March 25.
Kable was 2-1 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 at No. 1 doubles for the
Sea Gulls during their Spring Break trip to California. Kable
helped the maroon and gold post a perfect 3-0 record with wins over
Colorado College, Whittier and Occidental. She teamed with Jackie
Burr to win all three doubles matches as the No. 1 pair for the
Gulls. Her lone loss came against Occidental as she lost 6-7 (5-7),
6-3, 8-10 to Jen Wahba. She defeated Colorado College's Kelsey
Smith in three sets and Whittier's Jennifer Pigott in straight
sets.
Kable is the first Sea Gull to earn a CAC Women's
Tennis Athlete of the Week award this spring season.
